Jack: 1 Mommy: 0
I just had a battle royale with Jack over changing his diaper. I got the dirty one off, the butt wiped clean, but unfortunately I was unable to get a clean diaper on. You're probably thinking, "You're 25, he's 1, how can you just let him win?" Trust me, between his ear piercing shrieks, kicking, and "running" away, it's just a battle no one could win. So now he's running around the living room naked in all his glory. I won't be posting naked baby pictures (this is the internet!), but I will do the next best thing: a kitten running away from monsters. Random, I know, but so amusing.

NBS: Naked Baby Syndrome

Chrissyism (Cris-c-is-em): A statement made by me that shows how confused I am. Example #1: Last night I was talking to Kevin about a wood project he wants to do. I asked if he owned a puzzle saw. He said, "You mean a jig saw?". Example #2: My parents once were talking about "buying the farm". I asked them, "Why would you want to own a farm? That'd be a lot of hard work."
Chrissyism for the day: Kevin said, "Jack kept waking up last night because the dog was laughing." I replied sincerely, "Muffin can laugh?" He replied, "Muffin? I'm talking about his toy dog that he sleeps with." Why I would think the family dog could laugh is beyond me.
So, we head off to bed. I have no idea at what time Jack started crying, but I did not hear him. Apparently, Babycakes (Jack) rolled over in his crib onto this singing dog that wouldn't shut off. Since it kept him awake, he was crying. Kevin got up and brought him into the room so he would feel better and be cuddled.
7am rolls around and there's a kung fu combo of hair pulling and hitting from my tot going down. Nothing says "Wake up, Mom!" like a punch to the face. I am so exhausted! Why can't he just sleep!? And poor Kevin got even less sleep then me because he was up all night trying to get Jack Jack back down.
On another note, our sweet boy has learned how to take off his pants. He's been able to for a few months now, but it was only just recently that he became a pro at it. Both yesterday and today I was making us breakfast and the next thing I know there's a half naked baby running through my living room. Who am I to judge, right? I say if a person doesn't want to wear pants, let them not wear pants!

We'd Rather Be Naked

There are a lot of things that Jack and I have in common. I mean, he is with me practically 24/7 aside from the few days I work, so naturally would be a lot like me. And one of them is he would rather be naked!
This morning he woke up and I brought him into the bedroom to cuddle (our morning mommy-tot ritual). He was soaked so I took his clothes off and was going to change his diaper but the second I got the dirty one off and wiped him clean, he was off! I mean, for a 29 pound baby stuck in a 12 x 12 room, he is fast! Finally I caught him and he cried at the thought of having to put on that new diaper. Seriously, who would really want to walk around all day with one of those on? Not exactly a chick magnet. So, I made a compromise with him. During cuddle time he could go commando. He was so happy! He just laid there so relaxed and calm. He even fell back asleep.
My sweet little naked angel, I felt so bad having to force him to wear his diaper. He did pee 3 times on me without one on, which means the entire room gets to be washed down (a small price to pay for a happy baby). So, the naked baby is no more.
And, I thought I would quickly share two funny naked things that happened to me this week!
1. My sister came in my room this morning and I said, "JESS! I'm naked!" and she said, "So? You're always naked."
2. I usually wear a black tank top under my polos for work because they suck in my love handles and make me look pre-motherhood. I didn't wear one yesterday and somehow all 5 buttons to my polo came undone (well, I know how, my boobs are too big for my shirts, but if I get a bigger shirt, I won't look as hot because they won't be as form fitting). I noticed that all of my customers, which happen to be men, kept staring at me weird. Finally I had a woman customer and she told me my buttons were all undone. Not that you could see my party favors, but there was enough hanging out to be embarrassed. Welcome to Albertson's folks, where it's always a free show at check-stand 4!
