So, not only was I bad blogger this week (I have to fill you in on SoccerTots, running, & our trip to Portland!) but Jack and I are leaving tomorrow morning for Reno and California for a week! Maybe I will find some time to blog while on vacation? Yeah, probably not. Anyway, we'll be back March 5th! xoxo

Tons of Tots

Jack has really been improving on his behavior and with sharing now that we have had Sam coming over daily. Sam talks a lot which is also starting to rub off on Jack. He's a great influence on Jack and I am so grateful for the little tike. Between toys, snacks, and a very tolerant cat, the boys keep pretty busy during the days:

Firemen... They Make Me Want to Start a Small Kitchen Fire...

Jack, James, and I were invited to the local fire department for a tour with Sam's older brother's cub scout group. I was more then thrilled at the idea as firemen are known for being hot. Plus, it would get the kids out of the house as they've been cooped up here with the cold weather. We arrived there at 10am and met some of the most gorgeous men I've ever seen in my life. They took all of us around the station and talked about fire safety and such. Jack, being the delightful angel pie he is, didn't listen to a word they said and kept running to the trucks and trying to hide under/in them. One of the hot firemen helped me catch Jack on more then one occasion. Some say he helped because it's his duty, I say he helped because he secretly wants to marry me. Anyway, after the presentation, the kids got to climb in the truck, set off sirens, and push lots of buttons. It was an awesome field trip!

Play Date With Sam

Today Jack's new friend (my new daycare kid) Sam came over. From 8:30am - 11:15am, the boys played with trains, cars, action figures, drawing on the walls, and stealing each other's snacks. When Sam's mom came to pick him up (she lives 3 houses down) she brought her other 3 boys with her, age 5, 7, and 9. Oh my gosh, imagine 5 boys in my house. Within seconds the place was destroyed. Sam's mom was so nice trying to help clean up but I told her it was a lost cause and that I would do it after Jack went to bed because it would be impossible with the 5 boys playing. I do not know how that woman has 4 boys and hasn't jumped off a bridge. They are all very polite and well behaved, but like all boys, full of energy and loves new toys. Most of Jack's toys are for bigger kids anyway, so they had a blast with them while us moms chit-chatted. Jack had so much fun with them and felt like the most special boy in the world. This probably was the best day of his life having so many cool kids to hang out with.

After all of the kids left, my house practically imploded, and my mind completely scattered, Jack immediately crashed on the couch. Between still being sick and all the boy fun, he just was so worn out. He's so cute when he's in his deep sleep like that. He has the sweetest little snore. I could listen to it for hours on end. He had a lot of food today, and his pants came unbuttoned while he slept (see above photo)... how cute is that! It's like he's a real man practically!

Sick SoccerTot

Today Jack had SoccerTots with Kevin. The boys dropped me off at my running class since it was snowing pretty bad today, and then they were off to the arena. Kevin states they arrived at the soccer arena and Coach Renee said hi to Jack and gave him a steering wheel to practice racing like a car. Jack threw the steering wheel at the coach, then threw himself on the floor and had a tantrum. Throughout practice, Jack was coughing and crying, and not participating in the games. I feel bad for forcing them to go, and I should have let him stay home sick like Kevin suggested. So after leaving soccer early, Kevin took him on a nice drive until it was time to pick me up from running practice.

Running today was a lot of fun. Laura and I stuck together and I feel like I made a lot of progress today. It was snowing and freezing, and our throats hurt so badly, but it was still a lot of fun to get out there! We received awesome goody bags with $40 sunglasses, a running shirt (not a t-shirt, but one of those nice nylon running tops that real runners wear!) running socks, and an ADIDAS hat. Seriously, I could sell all of it on eBay and make a nice little profit! But I'm not going to, because I like my new running gear!

Jack's cough has worsened, so I'm going to see how he feels Monday and I may just take him to the doctor. He's so tired and a complete grouch. I haven't slept in two days because I've been up with him while he cries and cuddles. I love the cuddles though, so I shouldn't complain too much.

Tomorrow is the Super Bowl. Kevin bought ribs, beer, and bunch of other boy things for the big game. I have no interest in watching it, so I think I'll go run errands or do laundry. Jack loves football, so I'm sure the two of them will be occupied for hours while I get some quiet time to myself. Maybe I'll take a nap instead! Ooooh!

Sick Tater Tot

Well, I'm blogging at 5am because Jack is sick and we've been up all night. I thought his cold was starting to get better, but now he has this awful cough. It's not bad enough where I think he needs to see a doctor, but it is pretty bad. Mostly we've been giving him a lot of cuddles and gatorade to keep him happy. He does not want to be set down and insists that one of us is holding him all the time. He has a little fever, but it's manageable with children's medicine. Poor little guy.

I really love our cat.

I love giving that boy sugar!!!

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs!

Angus MacGyver says, "MOM!!! Jack just pulled my tail!"

Jack loves his "shuws!" as he likes to calls them. Shuws means "shows" which means a movie. I try to limit the amount of television Jack watches, but about an hour and a half before bed, we let him pick out a movie to watch. Jack likes to stick to a movie for a few weeks at a time before he changes it up. First it was Monster's Inc, then Cars, followed by Toy Story 1 & 2, Madagascar 1 & 2, and so forth. Right now Jack is on a Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs kick and that's the only movie he'll watch. It's actually my new favorite movie, too, so I watch it every night with him. It seriously is an inspirational film! It makes you want to get up a make something of yourself. Anyway, if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it no matter what your age is. It just is one of those movies that makes you feel good.

So, in the movie there are a few suspenseful parts where food is falling from the sky and threatens the townspeople's lives. A spaghetti tornado hits the town and everyone starts to panic. Jack has a love/hate relationship with this part. It scares him that the people are going to get hurt, but he loves buildings being destroyed! So at this part of the movie, he likes to sit in the hall between the office where Kevin is working and the living room where the tv is, and he runs back and forth from Kevin to the hall throughout the rest of the movie. He likes to make sure he has his dad close by for the scary parts. Apparently having me next to him on the couch offers no comfort at all. SIGH!
